Zuckerberg humorously recalled asking Chan out, joking that they needed to go on a date quickly because he might be expelled soon.
“20 years since our first date,” Zuckerberg wrote, sharing a nostalgic reflection on their journey. “We met at a going away party my friends threw for me in college when they thought I was about to get kicked out of school.”

A year of special moments for Zuckerberg and Chan
One of the more unique moments for Zuckerberg came in August 2024 when he honored Chan with a grand gesture. He commissioned a giant statue of her, which he unveiled in a touching tribute.
“Happy New Year and here’s to even bigger things in 2025,” Zuckerberg captioned the photo, sharing his excitement for the year ahead.
