01/29/2010 Makati City Mayor and United Opposition (UNO) Vice Presidential candidate Jejomar Binay yesterday described Malacañang’s infusion of 150,000 kilos of sugar to Metro Manila as a palliative solution, likening it “to a spoonful of sugar that will not make the shortage go away.” “The region needs a cup of sugar and the Palace gives it a granule, and it rubs salt to the wound by loudly announcing its move,“ Binay said At one kilo per family, only 150,000 families will theoretically benefit from the Palace’s “fake sugar rush,” Binay said.
