Gary Valenciano and Martin Nievera will be back in town on February 27, 2010 at the D.C. Armory. This will be the first time that the two towering musical icons will be performing back-to-back on one stage.
For many years, their U.S. followers, as well as producers, have been requesting for a full-length Martin-Gary concert with no luck.
So everyone patiently waited, to no avail. But judging from the glowing reviews of their AS1 show, first staged at the jampacked SM Mall Of Asia Concert Ground last September before embarking on a U.S. concert tour, it’s safe to say that it has been worth the wait.
They have a huge Fil-Am fan base here in the U.S. Their loyal fans Have never failed to catch a Martin or Gary show for the last two decades.
In fact, their many Washington metro area fans took a scheduled bus ride last Oct. 23 to see their show at the Taj Mahal Hotel in Atlantic City. So I’m sure they would love to see this show again.
Robert Dizon of On-Stage Productions will once again produce this show. “Martin/Gary AS1″ concert is coming to the DC Armory on Feb. 27, 2010 at 4 p.m. Tickets are $150, $88, $58, and $38. To order tickets. pls. call Robert Dizon 571-283-1330 or e-mail email@example.com.
And now I would like to share with you the top tsismis of 2009. First and foremost, the sex tape scandal of Hayden Kho and Katrina Halili dominated the headlines for a couple of months.
This caused a lot of brouhaha and led to a Senate hearing.
This imbroglio that Hayden had created made him the most hated man in the country and his medical licensed was revoked.
A few weeks ago, he was at the center of controversy again when he allegedly tried to commit suicide. After that, he called a press conference where he vehemently denied all the rumors. It has not been a good year for Hayden.
But it has certainly been a very good year for Manny Pacquiao. After his triumphant win in Vegas, one of the world’s richest richest athletes has been showered with much praises and accolades. A few weeks ago, he celebrated his 31st birthday with a big birthday bash.
Known for his generosity, he had a raffle during the party where he gave away prizes such as three brand-new cars, a house and lot, and plenty of groceries. Even the rumors linking him to his co-star, sexpot Krista Ranillo was just fodder for the rumor will. It was talked about for weeks but soon after it was all but ignored.
Manny’s mom, Mommy Dionisia, bought new shoes and a new outfit for her son’s party.
Mommy Dionisia has made a successful entry into showbiz, with her film debut in the comedy “Ang Tanging Familya” which was a box-office hit. She has also showed off her dancing skills when guesting on various tv shows. She will endorse the museum that her idol Imelda Papin is in the process of building, the museum will be about showbiz memorabilia on the life and career of the legendary diva.
Her rags-to-riches story, coupled with her candid comments, quirky gestures, and hliarious outbursts-not to mention her singing and dancing skills have all made her a household name. She admits she enjoys the celebrity status that her son’s fame has brought her. In fact, she thinks she may have been destined for it.
These days, Mommy Dionisia gets hounded for interviews, photo ops, and autographs.
Her ballroom dancing has been much-videographed and photographed. Anywhere she goes, people call her name. Christine Reyes is reported to be jealous of her ex-boyfriend Dennis Trillo has a new girlfriend.
Gerald Anderson and Kim Chiu will be back in another ABS-CBN teleserye “Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo.” Also joining the show is Kris Aquino.
Speaking of Kris Aquino, she will back on the big screen after five years of absence.
She will be making a special cameo appearance in the anticipated “Mano Po 6″ which will star Megastar Sharon Cuneta.
Zaijian Jaramillo who plays the angelic Santino in the top-rated “May Bukas Pa” has just signed a new contract with ABS-CBN.
And who could forget the incredible year of Charice Pempengco? She just ended her very successful David Foster and Friends Tour, her album “Charice” turned platinum.
And her first major solo concert staged last June 27, 2009 proved that she has crowd-drawing power even here in her homeland.
She has already proven that she is a much-sought-after performer intertionally-singing alongside big-name performers like Italian tenore Andrea Bocelli, diva Celine Dion, and pop balladeer Josh Groban.
Although she has guested on the television shows of Oprah Winfrey and Ellen De Generes, and although she has rubbed elbows with such celebrities as Celine Dion and Miley Cyrus, Charice says there are still some famous people she would like to meet and hopefully performed with-specifically Justin Timberlake.
