Pinoy runs CNET for tax filers

Jaymar Cabebe, a Filipino American who is associate editor of CNET, on Feb. 28 posted downloads to help people file their taxes. He said: “It is tax season, folks. So, if you haven’t gotten your W-2s, 1099s, and 1040s all compiled and organized, you’d best get moving. In any case, we’ve come up with a few tax apps that you should check out, as you make your way through the tedious filing process. All of them are powered by Intuit’s TurboTax, and all of them are useful in their own way. For instance, TaxCaster can help predict your refund amount before filing, while SnapTax will actually file a 1040EZ right from your phone. And of course, let’s not forget the flagship TurboTax product for desktops, which, for the first time, offers completely free tax advice from experts. Overall, we think it’s a fairly comprehensive tax solution, no matter how complicated your finances may be. And in other news, Mobile World Congress is underway. So, if you’re at all interested in seeing the newest mobile devices and apps, be sure to follow our team’s coverage.”
