Pinoy hit $15-M Superlotto in LA

LOS ANGELES – A Filipino sushi chef inLos Angeles,Californiahit the $15 million jackpot of SuperLotto there recently. Victor Caube ofEchoPark, an area at the edge of Filipinotown, was one of the two gentlemen who “checked in at the state lottery to claim his stake at the prize, news site Echo Park Patch reported last March 2. The report said both Caube and the other winner who asked lottery officials not to name him “were long-time friends”[who had] both come toAmericafrom thePhilippinesto seek their fortune.” In an interview with the news site, the 48-year-old Filipino said he came to America about 10 years ago after training in Japan, and then Guam, as a sushi chef, and is now working in Long Beach.
