FRONTLINE 10/30/2009 With Chiz Escudero quitting his membership in the Nationalist People’s Coalition, resulting in the NPC’s loss of a standard bearer, Noynoy Aquino and his Liberal Party quickly stepped into the picture and made it clear that the LP is more than willing to forge a coalition with the NPC. Aquino, in an interview, was quoted as saying that he will meet with his NPC stalwarts to negotiate a coalition between the LP and the NPC for the 2010 polls. “The NPC and LP have clear and similar positions against the Arroyo administration.” If that is not being highly opportunistic, not to mention politically naïve, then what else is?
