GMA as villain in Marvel comics
LOS ANGELES = President Gloria Arroyo is shown as a villain in Marvel comic’s “Secret Invasion” series. The latest issue Secret Invasion, shows President Arroyo as one of the shape-shifting “Skrulls,” an alien life form that is bent on conquering Earth. One of the “Skrulls” actually takes the form of the Arroyo relaying the aliens’ message to the Filipinos. The “Skrulls” can mimic anybody. In the series, they turn into powerful, recognizable and influential personalities who send messages to the human race. The illustration is done by Filipino artist Leinil Yu. She had to contend with the mighty X-Men, led by Wolverine, The Incredible Hulk, the Fantastic Four, Captain America, Spiderman, Iron Man, Daredevil, Silver Surfer and other superheroes of the Marvel Universe.
In his blog ” FilipinoVoices.Com “, Yu said there is no political motive behind the inclusion of Mrs. Arroyo in the series.
