Noli, Villar top presidentiables

Vice President Noli de Castro, Senate President Manuel Villar and Senator Francis Pangilinan have emerged as leading contenders in the 2010 presidential election, according to Antonio Gatmaitan, direcor of Political Economic Applied Resources Foundation. Early favorites Senators Manuel Roxas II and Loren Legarda were relegated to the list of remaining aspirants.
Gatmaitan revealed his list of 16 possible aspirants in the 2010 elections during a presentation before members of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Also on the list are Senators Francis Joseph Escudero, Richard Gordon, Gregorio Honasan and Panfilo Lacson; former President Joseph Estrada; Makati City Mayor Jejomar Binay, Quezon City Mayor Feliciano Belmonte; Metro Manila Development Authority Chairman Bayani Fernando and Cabinet Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr.
