Esperon leads peace caravan

Presidential Peace Adviser Hermogenes C. Esperon Jr. will lead a massive humanitarian and peace caravan in Sulu next month to drum up the government’s peace and economic development initiative in Mindanao. In a meeting with provincial government officials and representatives of national government agencies, Esperon announced the launching of the second phase of the Health-Education-Livelihood-Progress (HELP)for the provinces of Basilan and Sulu and for other areas in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM). “We are currently at the forefront of a wide scale humanitarian initiative in the South, with our renewal of humanitarian and relief efforts in Sulu, Basilan, and the rest of ARMM,” Esperon said. He said the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process(OPAPP) which he heads, has been tasked to package all national
government initiatives to bring in economic developments in Basilan and
Sulu through HELP.
