Bicol Ass’n meet in DC July 11

A bienvenida (welcome) reception is planned on the first day followed by dinner and the introduction of the delegations from various BNAA member organizations. This will include dancing floor or in karaoke-type restaurants., the “pantomina” native dance of Bicolandia, a caucus of the BNAA leadership to discuss the program-agenda of the “Convention Proper.”.
Expected to attend the convention proper are public officials and business representatives from the Bicol Region including Rep. Jose Solis, Camarines Sur Governor LRay Villafuerte, who will be the keynote speaker at the Gala/Dinner dance and Legazpi City Mayor Noel Rosal, who will address the BNAA delegates at the Convention Proper.
The Farewell Picnic will be held at the Wheaton Regional Park in Silver Spring, MD on Sunday. It is a tradition to hold one to continue the reunion before the conventioneers depart for their respective states or decide to enjoy their Washington DC visit with additional tour. The members of the local Bicol Association, joined by friends and guests will finish off the celebration till late in the evening.
The BNAA which was founded at the Quality Inn Capitol Hill in Northwest Washington DC in
1983 will be celebrating its twenty-fifth founding anniversary. With 13 original member organizations, the BNAA has grown to over 30 chapter members throughout the continental United States. The BNAA was established to unite the Bicolanos and promote camaraderie among us as well as staying connected to our homeland in the Philippines specifically the Bicol Region.
Rudy Nasol, the incumbent BNAA president and president of the Bicol Association in San Jose, CA said the participating chapters will come from its Pacific Region (California & Washington State), Western Region (Texas & Nevada), Southern Region (Florida, Georgia, South \Carolina, Virginia and Washington, DC), Eastern Region (Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts) and Central Region (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin.
