UPS leaves RP, goes to China

ups.jpgUnited Parcel Service (UPS) has announced that its Clark operations would be downscaled in favor of a new center in Shenzhen, China. Some two-thirds of the firm’s staff of 200 in the former US facility in Pampanga will lose their jobs but the firm said efforts were being made to identify “alternative employment opportunities within the UPS network. Flights from the $300-million Clark facility will be reduced to two daily from the current nine, the company said.
