Pinay drug mule doomed in China

Marissa Collado, 40, of Bulacan, was sentenced to death by the Guangzhou Municipal People’s Intermediate Court for the smuggling of heroin into China, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said. Philippine Consul General in Guangzhou Shulan Primavera said Collado was convicted last April 2 for the illegal transport of 1.536 kilos of heroin into China from Nepal. In China, those caught in possession of 50 grams or more of highly dangerous drugs, including heroin, risk being imprisoned 15 years to life or meted the death sentence.
