The world’s attention will focus on the Philippines as it hosts the 2nd Global Forum on Migration and Development in October 2008. Among those watching closely will be the estimated 8 million Filipinos living abroad. For them the Global Forum’s overarching theme this year, Protecting and Empowering Migrants for Development, will ring with Particular. The event will also include the release of the book, /In De Olde Worlde, Views of Filipino Migrants in Europe.
