DOH rules on RP disaster aid

The Philippine Embassy said the Philippine Department of Health (DOH), through the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC), has issued to all concerned government agencies Administrative Order (A.O.) No. 2007-0017 dated 27 May 2007 entitled, “Guidelines on the Acceptance and Processing of Foreign and Local Donations during Emergency and Disaster Situations.”

The said A.O. is part of DOH’s initiative to institute proper policy reforms in the aspect of health emergency management by providing guidance to key agencies in managing donations and ease their acceptance and processing for disaster victims, especially during the most critical phase of emergencies and calamities. It aims to improve service delivery during critical times and to establish a monitoring and evaluation scheme to ensure that the policies to be instituted shall address the dynamic requirements of emergency and disaster situations.
