In our culture where beauty is, well, everything, we readily admit to wanting more beauty around us,” says ISA President Aida Bacarra. To most of us, beauty serves as an inspiration of happiness, the universal answer to what is joyful.
But what truly is beautiful? Girls define it as being tall and thin, with a brilliant, charming smile and shapely curves. Clearly, we celebrate beauty and glamour in a way thats different from how we see it.
Indeed, we celebrate Beauty in our own majestic way.
As it has done in the last 23 years, the Ilocano Society of America, Inc. will once again make this a reality through a beauty competition.
ISAs Ms. Teen-Age Philippines USA pageant 2008, will take place on *May 25, Hyatt Regency Hotel, Crystal City , Arlington, Virginia.
In this pageant, contestants will not only be judged for their beauty.
Talent, grace and caste will also be emphasized.
The message is loud and clear, adds ISAs president. Beauty may be skin deep, but self esteem and style make it deepest to the core. Even if it does not lead to a beauty crown, certainly it could bring social advancement. Self confidence is always the key. Its how to have a personality.
So, once again the race to be the fairest of them all starts now.
For interested contestants, there is no fee to join the pageant. For more information, please contact Sally Dela Cruz, 202-872-2692, Myra Villegas, 301-653-0847, or email Mya Talavera, myatalavera@aol.com. (mlt)
