The Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) on Tuesday called on government to pursue the extradition of Air Force Capt. Felipe Valerio so he can shed light on the identity of the mastermind in the Benigno Aquino Jr.-Rolando Galman double murder case.
We urge the Department of Justice to extradite from the United States to the Philippines, Air Force Capt. Felipe Valerio so that he could corroborate the testimonies of Master Sgt. Pablo Martinez, the escort of Rolando Galman and SPO4 Ruben Cantimbuhan, said a VACC statement release on Aquinos 75th birth anniversary Nov. 27.
Valerio was the commander of the Aviation Security Command (Avsecom) 805th Special Operations Squadron tasked with securing the Manila International Airport. Cantimbuhan was a police officer assigned to the Aviation Security Group and the driver of a van stationed less than three meters away from the tarmac where Aquino was killed.
Valerio is reportedly working as a pilot in the US.
