789 Pinoys now US citizens

LOS ANGELES Out of the some 6,000 who took their oath of American citizenship at the Convention Center here Nov. 30, 789 were Filipinos. Filipinos were the third largest ethnic group at the naturalization ceremonies, beaten only by Mexicans at 4,892 citizens and El Salvadorians at 1,120. Filipinos were also the largest Asian group at the ceremony.
Some of the new citizens are Filipinos who are with the US military. Four of the 9 military officers at the ceremony were Filipinos, representing the Army, Navy, and Marines.
