‘Paraiso’ at MD church Dec. 7

December 3, 2007

Paraiso, a movie trilogy starring Maricel Soriano, Cesar Montano and Michael V, and with the special participation of Carmi Martin, will be re-shown on December 7 at 8 p.m., at the Dewan Hall of St. Columba Church in Oxon Hill, Maryland. The CFC (Couples For Christ) Handmaids of the Lord in Maryland sponsor this event. Suggested donation is $10. Proceeds will go towards the building of more houses and villages in Gawad Kalinga (GK) sites all over the Philippines.

There are now one thousand two hundred fifty three villages composed of sixty to one hundred houses per GK village in the Philippines. But there is a long way more to go. GK aims to build seven hundred thousand homes in seven thousand communities in seven years, as what its GK 777 slogan stands for. It will be its 7th year in 2010.GK hopes the December showing of Paraiso at St. Columba Church will also bring in more people to join and support GK. Out of the projected completion of 7,000 communities, only 1,253 communities or villages have been completed. CFC or GK still need to build over 5,000 villages to reach the goal of 7,000 by 2010. We need more volunteers and supporters.

If you want to help rebuild lives and alleviate poverty in the Philippines through GK may call Amy at 301-292-6190 or Celia at 301-219-1157.
