NY grants driver licenses to illegal aliens

NEW YORK – Governor Eliot Spitzer has ordered state officials to issue drivers licenses to illegal aliens, but some local officials are opposing his order and plans to bring the issue to court.

The drivers license issue has put him at odds with City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, who criticized the order. The Democratic governor shot back that the mayor was dead wrong, factually wrong, legally wrong, morally wrong, ethically wrong.” Former New York City Mayor Rudolph W.
