WASHINGTON D.C. – The Filipino Womens Network on Oct. 25 honored The 100 Most Influential Filipina Women in the US during its 5th annual Filipina summit dinner-recognition award at 6:30 p.m. October 25 at the Grand Hyatt, according to Dr. Bambi Lorica, chair of the FWN awards gala host committee. Honorary chair is Mrs. Erlinda Concepcion Gaa while keynote speaker was Velma Veloria.
Awards Gala Host Committee. Keynote speaker at the three-day seminar that will follow (Oct. 25-27) were Gloria T. Caoile and Irene Bueno and the theme of the seminar was: Filipina Voices: Changing the Face of Power in America.
Pinay Power 2012″ is a dream with a meaningful purpose -double the number of Filipina women leaders in the U.S. by 2012. To achieve this goal, FWN launched the nationwide search to identify the Top 100 Filipina women who are shaping our communitys influence in American society today and how they are impacting our future. The Top 100 would be invited to return to the Filipina Summit in October 2012 to celebrate their partnership. Participants visited the White House Oct. 24, toured the US capitol Oct. 25 and attended the Philippine embassy reception Oct. 27 which included Authors Reception & View the Filipiniana Collection @ the Library Congress.
