Ched call center probed by Neri

THE Commission on Higher Education has spent more than P75 million to pay for consultancy and travel expenses for this year alone for the implementation of the P500 million-government project for the setting up of the Multi-Site Business Process Outsourcing-Incubation Contact Centers (IMBPO-ICC). In an official document, CHED spent P75,839,885.89 from January to August

this year in visiting at least 16 selected state colleges and universities (SUCs) where call centers are to be installed, including consultancy fees. The document said that upon verification of the IMBPO-ICC project fund on March 26, the following payments were released within the period of July 11, P19, 876,434.21; Aug. 6, P3,744,674.81; Aug. 7, P18,012,213.66; Aug. 14, P23,290,061.45 and P10,916,501.76.
CHED officer-in-charge Romulo Neri has said he would conduct an investigation on the IMBPO-ICC project.
