Burgos’ mom goes to UN

The mother of activist Jonas Burgos, who has been missing for five months now, has gone to the United Nations in search of justice for her son and to lobby for help on the worsening human rights situation in the Philippines,” according to the human rights group Karapatan.
Edita Burgos is in Geneva attending the session of the UN Human Rights Council, together with other human rights advocates like Marie Enriquez, executive director of Karapatan; lawyer Edre Olalia, legal consultant for Karapatan and president of the International Association of Peoples Lawyers, and Susan Cruz of Bagong Alyansang Makabayan-Central Luzon.
The UN session started last September 10 and will end Sept. 28. Share This
