BAGUIO CITY, Philippines?A 17-year-old man in Pangasinan was killed after he was hit by a stray bullet on New Year’s Eve while 254 people were injured in firecracker-related incidents from Dec. 30 to Jan. 1 in Northern and Central Luzon, reports gathered by the Inquirer showed. On Jan. 1 last year, police reported 120 injuries in these regions and two fatalities from a fire that blew up firecracker stalls in Nueva Ecija. As in the previous New Year revelry, government doctors said many of the victims were teenagers and children, some as young as 6.
